What a Gal- 1: Agnes Moorehead

                                                    Agnes in the 1920's.
Agnes in Our Vines Have Tender Grapes (1945).  She mainly played supporting roles but all of the movies she was in could not be remembered without remembering her role in them. She frequently played mothers, a role she played perfectly even though she never had children. Some of Aggie's best roles were in Citizen Kane(1941), The Magnificent Ambersons (1942), Mrs. Parkington (1944), Our Vines Have Tender Grapes (1945), Johnny Belinda (1948), Caged (1950), Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte (1964), and of course as Endora on Bewitched (1964-1972).

To think that Agnes originally turned down the role of Endora is horrifying! She only agreed to take the part after Elizabeth Montgomery asked her in person when they ran into eachother in a department store. Thank God she said yes because nobody could play Endora like Agnes. It never got old to hear Agnes call Darren "Derwood!" on Bewitched.
